It's here, too - and, since I've not specifically downloaded anything related, I assume it's part of the standard install.


kai: your Python snippet decodes the %xx stuff, but still returns a
string in URL format (file:///blah) instead of just a bare POSIX
path...

Thanks, Mark. Moment of madness, which I only noticed myself when doing just some speed comparisons. I'd also add that the suggestions offered by you and Scott are significantly faster anyway - so pay no heed to the product of such patent delirium. :-)
