Hi there,
Following on from a post last week I'd set myself the task of trying to duplicate a layer in Quark 6.52.
I've trawled through a number of articles and posts on this subject with the best solution being to create a new layer and duplicate each item from the original layer and move it to the new one. I was wondering if there was something simpler.
The option to 'duplicate a layer' can be selected from the menu that appears if the user command-clicks the chosen layer.
I've been able to get the properties of a chosen layer as shown below:-
tell application "QuarkXPress" set aLayer to object reference of layer "test" of document 1 get properties of aLayer end tell
I've then tried quite a few variations of 'duplicating' the layer simply using the 'duplicate' command from the dictionary but as yet haven't had any success. Here's what I found in the dictionary:-
duplicate v : Duplicate object(s) duplicate reference : the object(s) to duplicate [to location reference] : the new location for the object(s) → reference : to the duplicated object(s)
Please can anyone confirm whether or not it's possible?
Thanks in advance,
Nick
