It happened again, yesterday. I got the error message "The cancel
button cannot be the same as the default button." while running a
script that had been working properly for weeks. And there was no
'display ...' command involved. In this case, I quickly found and
corrected the problem: there was a reference to the "original item of
an alias file" that needed to be enclosed in a try block.
There seems to be a problem with the Finder encountering a legitimate
error condition, but returning the error message "The cancel button
cannot be the same as the default button.", instead of a message that
correctly describes the condition.
