The password you are entering is not to access the data in Entourage but to
authenticate your mail account when Entourage connects to the mail server,
in order to obtain a copy of the mail.
There's no way AppleScript would know if Entourage is logged on to the
server because most of the time Entourage is not logged on to the server.
Entourage periodically connects to the server to check for mail. At other
times it is not connected.
If you had a stay-open script running anyone could easily stop that script
which means it is no longer doing what you want.
There's no way to do this directly with Entourage. What you need to do is
stop them from accessing your Mac OS X account.
If you have let others regularly use your computer you should set them up
with their own Mac OS X account. Fast User Switching allows them to log in
while you are still logged in. They won't be able to access your data.
In Mac OS X 10.4 see System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Options.
To stop those accessing your account while it is logged in you should set
the screen saver on and have it require your password to de-active it.
In Mac OS X 10.4 see System Preferences -> Desktop & Screen Saver -> Screen
Saver
and System Preferences -> Security -> Require Password...
To do this you will need to have a password on your Mac OS X account.
Of course, if you want that others don't have access to mail then you could
use a mail account that has web access and is not set up in Entourage for
obtaining mail. You would then only have access to it via a web browser.
