oops,
I had a mistake:
try this instead
on adding folder items to this_folder after receiving these_items
tell application "Finder"
try
repeat with i from 1 to number of items in these_items
set this_item to item i of these_items
set new_name to the name of this_folder as string
set file_count to the number of items in this_folder
set the item_info to info for this_item
--checks the file type
if the name extension of the item info is in {jpg} then
--gives a unique name to the file
set the name of this_item to new_name & "_" & file_count & ".jpg"
end if
end repeat
end try
end tell
end adding folder items to
