MySQL is not included in Mac OS X.
Why do people seem to think it is?
Perhaps because it's included in OS X Server. I personally wish they'd
include PostgreSQL instead, since it can be used without cost by
everyone, not just developers of GPL'd software. (This statement only
applies to MySQL 4.0 and later; earlier versions can be used without
fear of GPV infection since the C library is licensed under the Library
GPL. Even the most recent JDBC drivers are now GPL'd, although I think
there's a case to be made that using them doesn't make your program a
derived work.)
