Yes, or at least dig down to the point where I can point at a specific piece of code and say, "My problem is in there." I've submitted patches to several open source projects (one of them being FreeTDS, a db client), and I've also used source to narrow down a problem to a point where it's much easier for the main developers to help me out. Perhaps I'm not average, but power-users are people too! ;-)

The availability of source (regardless of whether the library costs money or not) always weighs heavily in my decisions to use or not to use.
