Since the Finder hasn't been rewritten in Cocoa, but rather is said
to still be Carbon, I'd wager a guess that they actually created a
custom PowerPlant view. Come to think of it, I read that somewhere...
maybe even a while ago on this list, or on Carbon-Dev.
