How fast do you need to search? Searching any faster than the Finder
does is going to be a real trick to implement (I'm working on a program
to do it, but it's not going to be done anytime soon). For searching
"somewhat fast", try looking in at the file manager docs (Carbon,
unfortunately). Searchkit, as mentioned before, isn't going to be very
useful for what you're doing.

How can I search the hard drive using Searchkit, I didn't find the
documentation very useful and I need to be able to search the hard
drive quickly in my application.
