10.3 feature questions: Search, Split buttons?

2. A 'split button' widget (the thing you use to select tabs in a tab
view, but without the tab view).

This is NSSegmentedControl. Unfortunately, it's not available directly
in IB yet, but if you want to know about them...

This may be what Stuart was asking for, but looking at the page you referred
him to makes me think not. It does not behave like a tab-view, but rather
like a compact way of representing a bunch of radio buttons.

On the other hand, the "Mini" appearance of a normal TabView does look a lot
like a "split button", and it is a tab view. I'm afraid I'm not in a position
to say whether this is new to 10.3 or not, but it sure sounds like a split
button tab view to me.
