The rule is to use a Java-style classpath, but since I am not a "com"
and don't have a domain to call my own, I just use my app's English
name. I never had a preference-file-name conflict back in OS 9 days,
why would I have one now? And even if there were another app out there
with the same name and non-standard behavior, I could just append my
app's creator code to the filename.
I think of the "com" convention as a) an entry-barrier, b) pretension,
or c) me-too-ism, depending on my mood.

Just curious, is there any rule or anything when choosing an
identifier for your application. The default is
"com.apple.myCocoaApp", should we go with "com.apple.<myappname>" or
just use the appname, or possibly "com.<mycompanyname>.<myappname>"?
Thanks a lot,
