If you are using CURLHandle (http://curlhandle.sourceforge.net) you can set your own user agent using

- (void)setUserAgent:(NSString *)inUserAgent

So you could set the user agent to be like your app name or something funky and then have your PHP check the user agent and make sure it matches.

My application communicates with a php script on my server what would be a good way to authenticate that the calls are in fact coming from my software?
