For what it is worth, I just sent an email to the xcode-users list
about the exact same problem. Are you building any dylibs by chance? To
add more confusion, right after I sent email, breakpoints in one file
started working, but on the next compile they went away again. Very
frustrating.

It seems for some reason that Xcode is not generating debugging symbols
therefore I am unable to debug. I have set breakpoints both in the IDE
and via the gdb interface with no luck.
Here is a picture of the current settings. Note the build target at the
top and it states "debug-symbols:off". However in the project inspector
it is clearly shown that the debug symbols are turned on.

I have flipped the switch both ways and has not affected the build.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem?
