It would have to be a lowest common denominator formatter. / is perfectly acceptable on HFS+, not so on UFS. \ isn't OK on FAT, but fine on the others. I'm sure there are a lot more out there than I know of. So what do you do? Format for the target disk or just use the LCD approach.
