In case anyone might find this useful, I have made available my sample
project illustrating handling of UNIX signals:
http://hayne.net/MacDev/TestSignals/
You can send signals to it via 'kill' or via the pulldown menu on the
application itself and it catches those signals (where possible) and prints
a message.
