You might try the Macintosh News and Information mailing list; see <http://sparky.listmoms.net/lists/#mac-l>. Pretty large (more than 2500 subscribers) and very knowledgable user base. It's a fairly active list, but there is a digest (as well as index) mode available.

For a slightly more technical list devoted to Mac OS X, try our X-Tech list; see <http://sparky.listmoms.net/lists/#x-tech>.
