Intercepting file manager messages?

  • Subject: Intercepting file manager messages?

Anyone know how I can intercept (or at least observe) file manager messages? You recall Stuffit's True Finder Integration program that watched for files to be renamed with a .sit. How can I be notified that files have been created, deleted, renamed, etc?
