How to use color panel to change color of font effects?

Does anybody know how to use color panel that is invoked from Font
panel ?
Generally font panel sends changeFont: message and color panel sends
changeColor: to the first responder. But! When you invoke color panel
from text panel, for example to change color of text underline, text
panel becomes first responder automatically and my custom view doesn't
receive any change* messages while changing color. There must be a way
of achieving the information.
