IBM xlc compiler

I'm trying out the IBM compiler in XCode. It claims that is supports optimisation -O4 and -O5. However, when I enter these manually into Other C Flags and Other C++ Flags, the compiler claims it doesn't know what they are and will ignore them.

It does seem to recognise -O3 though.

Has anyone had success with this compiler and these switches?
