Well, you could build in a so-many day expiration, where it will run
registered with a serial number for a certain period of time and then
repeatedly attempt to "activate" itself by chatting with your servers.
Also means users can start using the product immediately without an
internet connection. I've seen this done before, I think, but it all
sounds like a lot of effort :-)
