Can someone point me in the right direction as to intelligent file managing in an application, in other words, they was xCode DOESN'T do it. I basically want some sort of way for the user to select a file, then notice when the file moves. I believe, but am completely not sure I once read something like this is possible through bindings/and/or/keyvalueobserving. This doesn't sound right to me though, but in any case I don't have the slightest where to begin, so any help is greatly appreciated,

NSDocument does all of this for you already. Just make your application use NSDocument.
