PackageMaker from the command line

  • Subject: PackageMaker from the command line

I have a Makefile that will build a set of Xcode projects and make a bunch of packages and meta-packages. So that we can build everything with a single command.

I can do this because it's possible to run PackageMaker from the command line. There used to be a separate command (package) then with Xcode 1.0 it was an the executable in the PackageMaker.app. Now in Xcode 1.1 there seems to have been some changes again to the tool.

However, I cannot find anywhere documentation for the arguments that it expects. In Xcode 1.0 (I think) I could run the command with a bad argument and get a "usage" message. I no longer get that message and now I just get a "file doesn't exist" error.

So the tool exists which I want to use, but there is no documentation that I can find for it and it will not, itself, give me information on it's arguments.

Have any of you on the list found docs or reference for PackageMaker that I can use to help?

Thanks.

-Michael
