Can anyone out there tell me how I should find out the current time zone if the user has changed it recently? Also, if anyone knows how to get notification when this happens it would be helpful, as it would save me having to check every second.

OK, to answer my first question, it seems [NSTimeZone resetSystemTimeZone] has the desired effect of clearing the cached time zone information. This still leaves the question: can I get a notification when the user changes the time zone, so I don't have to reset the value every second?
