You can disable that, you know... ;-)
Close all your Finder windows, so that the "View" menu applies to
your desktop. Choose "View/Show View Options", and uncheck the "Keep
arranged by" option.
No, that would be "alphabetic sorting". Alphabetically randomizing is
when I *haven*t turned on "keep arranged by" and the Finder still
insists on putting my file in another place every time I save it.
It's positively dizzying when my files keep moving and shuffling
around the desktop in random patterns.
They've reported that as having been fixed at least three times
now... It's gotten better, but it still doesn't work.
