When I was learning about Cocoa/Java, I found the best source of
information was in the Developer examples that come with the Developer
Tools. It would be great if there was a mailing list such as this one
for Cocoa/Java users, or forum or something.
If you are new to the whole Cocoa thing, follow the Cocoa java tutorial
at
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/ macosx/Cocoa/JavaTutorial/
it helped me understand the whole ProjectBuilder (at the time) and
Interface Builder system, and how they worked together.
I think Cocoa/Java is treated like the ugly sister of Cocoa/Obj-C
sometimes, but I have been using it for over a year, and really like
it, it works very well, and is really great for cross platform work,
i.e. write the backend in 'pure' Java, and the front end in Cocoa,
moving the program to AWT/Swing will be quite simple.
Cheers
Moray
Sorry for the crosspost. I wasn't really sure which group to post
this in... =(
Someone mentioned off-list that it is possible to build a native Cocoa
application and use Java for the programming language. Is this true?
If so, where can I look for specific information on this topic?
Thanx,
Ryan
