Oh how I agree with you on this one. I'm currently trying to download
the damned thing and it's causing me grief with broadband - I can't
imagine what it was like on dialup.
The problem:
o Search for it: Apple's site -> Developer -> xCode -> ADC -> Tools ->
Yey! Found it!
o Download it: get a weird purple ftp cube thing on my desktop
o Drag files from cube to local machine: Finder throws a fit and
beachballs to a halt
o Lots of error messages saying the remote machine is inaccessable
o Disconnect: Finder throws a fit and beachballs to a halt
o Try again
o Drag files from cube to local machine: Finder throws a fit and
beachballs to a halt
o Finder moans that the files exist locally
o Delete the 0 byte ones - can't they're in use - Finder throws a fit
and beachballs to a halt
o Logout
o Try again
o etc
Surely there is a better way to distribute than this!!! It would work
better if Apple posted it on BitTorrent or supplied some ed2k links!
Rant over - just four more segments to go...
