URL info in Pasteboards

Good day all!

I am trying to use the general Pasteboard to place an hyperlink message (ie. piece of text that if you click it will take you to website) into the clipboard. I want my program to generate the text and the hyperlinke (ex. "Click to go to our website" is shown, usually in blue and underlined, clicking would invoke Safari to goto "http://www.here.com";). This could be pasted into document or iChat or where ever.

Has anyone doe this or have code? I am having problems. There is more than one URL pasteboard formats, if I am using the pasteboard calls directly. What is the difference between 'URLd' type vs 'URLr' vs URL pasteboad type? The NSURL has extentions to read/write to pasteboard, but when you do this, it seems to override the text message (only displays "here"). I suspect the best way to do this is a Rich text string, that has hyperlink inside it, but again no docs or examples.

Anyone done this before?

Thanks,

Steve Sheets
