I am in need of a control similar to a drop down combo box but one that
displays my own view. I have the view that I want to display in the drop

I don't know if this is exactly what you want, but the StarMenu Apple samples displays a custom-drawn popup control. I don't think the menu will *stay* dropped down when it's just clicked on once, but that shouldn't be hard to remedy. It's in Carbon though - there may be a better way to do this in Cocoa.
