calling nsdistributednotificationcenter from a service

  • Subject: calling nsdistributednotificationcenter from a service

I have a service that i've written, or rather modified, and a few of it's calls are to nsdistributednotificationcenter. The service registers itself, and then does a call to postnotificationname. I'm certain, or rather fairly certain that the registration works, but when i call postnotificationname nothing happens. I am certain the code works as running the EXACT SAME code copy pasted in to an application has the desired effect. Is there some special property of services i'm not considering, or is this a bug?

thanks

don smith
