In my opinion it got nothing to do with MVC, NSValueTransformer is a
part of the framework on which you implement your MVC paradigm. So when
your subclassing NSValueTransformer to write your own value transformer
then you're extending the functionality of the framework and nothing
else.
MVC + framework (Cocoa) = application.
