one more:

- if you click on the title bar of a window and drag it over the dock (at
least if the dock is located at the bottom), if you can move the title bar
under the dock, it's Cocoa; if the title bar stays above the dock and can
not be moved under it, it's Carbon. Java windows behave like Carbon windows
in this respect.
