menu item alignment question

  • Subject: menu item alignment question

Hi!

I have a problem when I change the string for menu items. Our app doesn't use menu shortcuts/key equivalents directly from the main menu (we handle them ourselves) so I can't set the key equivalent directly in IB. However, we still need the key equivalent to be displayed in the menu item. So, we have for example these strings:

Open\tOption+O
Volume Up\tV

The problem is that I can't seem to align the key option properly with tabs. I tried with spaces instead but since the system font isn't fixed width it won't work either.

How can I align the strings correctly?

Thanks!

Luc
