Vince,
I've been fiddling about for a few days (unsuccessfully) trying to
figure out the proper AppleEvent for telling the Finder to compress a
path. Any chance there is a bit of sample code or documentation
lying about that shows how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Has anyone out there attempted to use the
NSWorkspaceCompressOperation or NSWorkspaceDecompressOperation
with the performFileOperation: method? All of the documentation I
have read suggests these items are *currently* unavailable.
However, said documentation was written in 2004. I could really
use the functionality but I don't want to build a bunch of code
around something that remains disabled.
its still not hooked up.
You could implement the same thing by using either an apple script
to run the finder or sending an Apple Event to the finder.
(BTW i filed the bug requesting this)
Vince
Thanks.
