Is there now way to write an objective-c application that allows

I used GDL2 (<http://www.gnustep.org/resources/documentation/ Developer/GDL2/GDL2.html>), which is part of GNUstep. It is a EOF clone and has so far only one adapter for Postgres. I heard there are some others and implementing other adapters (e. g. ODBC) shouldn't be difficult.
You would have a complete object graph management system and apart from the adapter, everything should already be there for you.
It should compile out of the box on MOSX.
