I would be interested, but I'm not sure how much time I could commit
to it. While I love XCode, I really miss IDEA's refactoring, method
completion sensitive based on the object, and all the other goodness
that IDEA has.
I haven't tried 5.0, but I surely hope they fixed the OSX startup
slowness bug...
anyway .. sorry for being OT.

mayo

It looks like IDEA 5.0 has a much richer language API then before.
Anyone interested in working on language support for Objective-C /
Cocoa? Would folks use such a thing?
I personally use IDEA for all of my Java / JSP development, it
truly is an excellent IDE.

I'm normally a unix/vi sorta guy but recently I've been taking a
few Java IDEs out for a spin. Generally too complicated, dog slow,
and frustrating on my box... until this new release (5.0) of IDEA:
http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/
Wow - its source code analysis capabilities are spectacular!
(Oops, just found a lot of things in my project that need to be
refactored.) IMHO, that's what sets it apart from the other IDEs.
And the SubVersion integration is shweeet indeed. One keystroke
and my changes are committed to the remote repository, with a
prompt and a text area to add a message (no more forgetting the -m
"My insightful message" command-line option).
Jet Brains has radically improved the functionality on Mac OS X
systems in this version -- new features, yet much faster, no need
to hack the plist, vast improvements over version 4.5.
So perhaps I'll finally transition out of my Neanderthal hide and
into the modern Java development world. We'll see...
