I have a managed object Entity called A which has a sting attribute b.
There will be a lot of A objects created.
In general, there will be only a few unique b attributes (with many repeats).
Is there a way to fetch a unique list of b attributes in the managed object context?

No. You must fetch all As, then you can use array/set operators on the result, such as @distinctUnionOfObjects:
