How do you get the list? Once you have it as an NSString, what do you
do with it? Are you using -fileSystemRepresentation to get a cstring?
I can say that my Cocoa app is able to open files who's names have '/'
in them.

hmmm, Windows doesn't allow the '/' nor ':' character in filenames.
