Like many people on mailing lists, you seem to lack the ability to
provide a short conclusive response and find it necessary to provide
information that doesn't help trace the source of your problem.
Your cloak and dagger of this conversation isn't helping you, I'm
confident that I can provide the source of distribution if I know the
name of the app in question and I am willing to discuss the matter
publicly on this list.
If you're looking for public help on this, I'm more than wiling to
assist for free, if you want private help, I'm certain there are many
private investigators who would be willing to assist you and the
yellow pages would be a place to locate one otherwise, write to the
list and I will respond to the list as soon as I obtain the
distribution information you are requesting.
You just took an off-list email and brought it on-list without consent
(at least it sure seems like that). That's usually Not Cool,
especially because he said (off-list) at the top, which means he did
it on purpose.
He wrote to the list publicly asking for assistance, I responded to the
list, there was nothing in his message that curtailed public
communication, his plea was a public one, had I responded privately I
would expect the communication to stay private.
He confirmed that my guess-by-google was correct so it's rather
obvious what software product he was talking about: DV Backup.
He didn't mention the app in question and a single comment about a
product I am unfamiliar with might be the app he was referring to so,
for me to assume that this is the app he was speaking of isn't a
logical conclusion.
Now, if he's speaking of dv backup, a quick search at bittorrent showed
it, if he's also looking for other distribution sources, I just found
it available at 3 carracho sites which are offering it with the code
key.
