To a very large extent, yes.
Note that in EOF you were required to define a schema (the EOModel)
that described the entities in your application. This made it easy for
controllers to know what properties model objects had. I suspect we
could have a similar discussion about this issue as there is about
bindings — is this really object-oriented? I would be interested in
others' perspectives, but as I noted in the bindings thread I don't
have time to devote deep thought to this issue at the moment. My usual
take on this is one of pragmatism — does the technology make the
developer's life easier, even if it wouldn't necessarily score full
marks in an academic CS project assignment. In the case of EOF, it
certainly did make the developer's life a lot easier.
