WYSIWIG drawing vs printing (was drawing scaled lines)

I think its probably OK to just match what the NSRulerView says an inch (or cm, etc) is rather than trying to be super accurate on the screen.

However, it would be nice to have an accurate printout (or at least an option for that). How would one go about that? I know there already is some translation, as a ~100 dpi display gets converted to a 300 or 1200 dpi printout (i.e., what ever "quality" the user has selected). Is it a lot of work to have the printout be different than the display?

Thanks for suggestions and pointers,

mark
