Custom Find Panel

Hello list,

I'm writing a custom find panel. The control being searched is the main window's first responder.
Is there a way for the find panel to be notified when the main window's first responder changes ?
This is so the find panel buttons (next, previous, replace etc.) enabled status can be set accordingly when the main window's first responder can (or can't) respond to message performFindPanelAction:

Best wishes,

  Steven
