NSRulerView labels, major tic mark spacing

  • Subject: NSRulerView labels, major tic mark spacing

I've been experimenting with NSRulerView. I would like to directly specify the major tic mark spacing, the labels at major tics, and the number of minor tics between major tics. I can't find a way to do this with the registerUnitWithName method, which also has undocumented behaviors (sometimes major tic marks have labels, sometimes they don't, etc.). Is there documentation for the algorithms used by this method?

I don't see how drawHashMarksAndLabelsInRect can help either? Do I have to create my own rulers from scratch to get this functionality?

Greg
