right justified menu item text ?

Hello,

Does anyone know how to right justify menu item text? IB seems to gray out the alignment options and NSMenuItem doesn't seem to have an API call to do it and there does not seem to be a way to get to the NSMenuItemCell ? Is there something obvious that I missed, I thought I remembered this was possible in the past.
