separatorItem

Returns a menu item that is used to separate logical groups of menu
commands. This menu item is disabled. The default separator item is
blank space.

Using this in a menu gives me a space in the menu, I'd like a line as
is the default in IB, (default in IB but not in cocoa?) can anyone
tell me how to get one?
What version of OS X are you using? IIRC, the default separator changed
from a blank space to a line in 10.3. I certainly get a line with
+separatorItem.
