strange NSOutlineView problem

  • Subject: strange NSOutlineView problem

Hey folks.

I have an NSOutlineView representing the filesystem - with folders, items etc.

I have a strange problem: If I add an item to a branch that is not visible (i.e. one of it's parents is closed) then i lose the "open" state for all of the branches from that level upwards.

i.e., if i have the following structure in the tree:

Root-- ------Folder1 -----------Folder1.1 -------------------Folder1.1.1

and i expand all of these folders, then close at the "Root" (so Folder1, Folder1.1 and Folder1.1.1 are still open, just hidden), when i add an item to Folder1.1.1 then all of the branches above it (Folder1.1 and Folder1) close themselves.

Anyone have any idea what's going on (and can understand my question - sorry, it's a very strange problem).

D.
