FWIW, if you want to store rich text in a core data store, it can be done but you'll have to store it as a blob. The Stickies example in / Developer/Examples/CoreData/Stickies does this.

NSTextView instances work fine with Core Data attributes. Just make sure you turn off "allows formatted text" on your NSTextView.
