Yes - that's what I see on the other machine that I installed the
Developer Tools on. But not on the 12" Powerbook that I'm using, even
after removing the Dev Tools as you suggest, and re-installing. I've
also repaired permissions on the disc, and generally done what I can
think of, but no joy. It's quite mystifying (at least to me).
Any other ideas?

I assume you don't see anything? If so consider removing the
developer tools and reinstalling them from the DVD.
You can use /Developer/Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl to remove dev
tools.
