As the original fomenter of said long thread, let me say this:

1. No, it is not true that Cocoa doesn't support nested sheets. It is fairly
straightforward to implement them, though tedious to make sure you got every
detail right.

2. I hereby retract everything I said about nested sheets being an
acceptable design. I switched to Apple's standard approach of putting up a
free-standing alert window when necessary while a sheet is present, and it
is much more intuitive.
