Spotlight: Indexing WebKit archives

Hi!

I would like to create an importer for the documents handled by my application. These documents actually are WebKit/Safari web archives with metadata stored in a CoreData database.

My importer has to get the meta data from the database. But how do I get it to index the content of the files. I feel like this has been done already for Safari. Is there a way to hand the files down to the Safari importer (which I can't seem to find)? Or am I on my own trying to extract plain text from my web archives?

TIA,
Pierre
