System event notification of network status

  • Subject: System event notification of network status

I'm writing an application which takes advantage of network resources when they are available, and has other functionality when the system is not connected to a network.

Is there some kind of system notification I can register for that will indicate when the computer is "online" or "offline"? I'd rather not sit and poll at intervals...

Thanks!

Wil
